Dutch Floral Paintings
The lovely painting by Maria van Oosterwijk (1630-1693 in this packet (front cover), is complemented by a Floral Still Life by Willem van Aelst (1627-1683?). These paintings can be found at the Cincinnati Art Museum.
We also have the Oosterwijk image as the cover of a blank Journal found on our Journals and Blank Books page. Alone or paired they make a lovely gift.

19th Century Seed Packets Note Cards
Produced in 1889, these seed packets are examples of the skill and dedication used to market a relatively routine product. The chromolithographed paper techniques were used for Trade Cards and other advertisements. The Birthday Book Rosa's Victorian Collection is illustrated by examples of ephemera. Ephemera are any transitory written or printed matters that are not meant to be retained or preserved. $9.95 each.
William Morris (1834 -1896)
He was a legend in his own time and through the years since. He was an English decorative craftsman, designing wallpaper, chintz, tiles, stained glass and furniture. The two note cards in this packet are details from his designs for wallpaper entitled Sweet Pea and Blossom. Every packet contains 5 of each card and 10 white envelopes.

Chinese Porcelain Design
The skilled decorative designs on ceramics, are seldom shown on cards. Seen here are the decorative enamels on a Flask and Teapot from the Quig dynasty that were produced between 1723 and 1795. $9.95 each
Decorative Plant Holder
A fine example of a metal worker's skill, is this wall plant holder. It was produced for the duPont family's home of Eleutherian Mills in the early 1800's. This was their first home in America and great efforts were placed in their garden, which was a pride to them.

Still Life
Basket of Flowers is the title of both paintings by Balthasar van der Ast that he painted in 1625.
Whether or not he painted them to be as a pair is questionable, but they are both, Oils on Panel, and virtually the same size. The are part of a gift to The National Gallery of Art by Mrs. Paul Mellon.
What is better today, is that they make very attractive Note Cards to send.
