Ceramic Pieces from Maurice Rushton's Flesh Pots Studio
The late Morris Rushton had a persistent sense of humor that he brought to his skill as an English potter and designer. In the late 1970's his most notorious product was a three part set of casseroles that, when places upon each other, formed a nude torso of a male or female. He made relatively few sets of the award winning casserole sets which now command high prices among collectors.
The sets offered are all from a shipment he made to the US in 1979. I am offering ; A white female set (3 casseroles with 3 covers) . Another female set in Blue. A Male set in Brown, which we believe was the rarest produced. The expected selling price will be in the $3000 range per set. You are invited to purchase or to make an offer close to the price which the sets are now fetching at rare auctions of pre-owned sets. On the cover/lid of the casserole is an original sticker with the following wording. These casserole are made from a Ceramic Vitrified Body and glazed with an Opaque Leadless High Temperature Glaze and will not craze or discolor or absorb liquid.Whilst being ovenproof this casserole should not be subjected to sudden extreme changes in temperature, Height of the three casseroles is 18.5 inches Width 13.5 inches and front to back 10.25 inches These casseroles are in original studio condition. We have opened the original shipping cartons which in some cases we shall reuse. For safe delivery we use UPS for packing shipping and insurance at a cost of $97 per set. Of course I would like you to click the button and order now but if you would like to have more information, please use the form at the bottom of the page
